The Information We Collect
The information we gather from customers helps us personalise and continually improve the user experience at ShopJam.
Here are the types of information we gather:
Information You Give Us: We store information you enter while using the ShopJam App (when you search, add to cart, participate in a contest or questionnaire, or communicate with customer service). You might supply us with such information as your name, address, and phone number, people’s emails to whom you have shared shopping lists, and content of emails to us. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, customising our service to you, | and communicating with you. You can choose not to provide certain information but this might disable certain features designed to improve your experience while using the ShopJam App.
Automatic Information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many websites, we use ‘Cookies,’ and we obtain analytics (ie, app usage) data when your browser or mobile device accesses a ShopJam app. You’ll find more on our usage of ‘Cookies’ below.
Email Communications: A messy inbox is as painful as a messy grocery cupboard. To help make our App more useful and interesting, you may receive an email confirmation request if you create an account with ShopJam. These are not marketing materials but transactional emails only. If you do not want to receive marketing emails from us, please unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe link contained in an email from us.
Why We Collect Information
To help make our apps easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once.
To help you quickly find information, products, and services.
To help us create content that is most relevant to you.
Alert you to new information, products, and services that we offer.
For protection against fraud and theft.
To improve our level of service.
Cookies are small files (or technically speaking, 'Alphanumeric Identifiers') that, assuming you have selected to allow cookies, are transferred to your computer's hard drive through your web browser to enable our systems to recognise your browser and to provide features such as storage of items in your Shopping Basket between visits. Our app can then tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
Who We Share Information With
We share customer information only as described below.
Third-Party Service Providers: We occasionally use other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. During some visits we may use third-party software tools (eg, Google Analytics) to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page. Other third-parties provide software for data analytics & crash reporting, software to provide accurate product data, search results and location availability, and for customer service purposes. Where necessary, these third-parties may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.
We work to protect the security of your information by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you transmit. We never store your credit card numbers.
It is important for you to protect against unauthorised access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
Information You Can Access
ShopJam gives you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information. Examples of information you can access easily include up-to-date information regarding personally identifiable information including name, email and password.
You can always choose not to provide information, even though it might be needed to use our apps effectively.
